Cold Brew Americano with Vanilla Cream and Cinnamon

Inspired by West Coast craft coffee shops, this cold brew combines the strength of Colombian coffee with the smoothness of homemade vanilla cream. A more authentic, less sugary version of the classic sweet cream cold brew.

In the United States, cold brew has become a way of life. It's the drink of choice for remote work, morning drives , and Sunday brunch. But few prepare it at home with the dedication it deserves. This version maintains the American spirit, but with an artisanal soul and Colombian coffee.

Start by preparing a concentrated cold brew : mix 100 grams of coarsely ground coffee with 1 liter of cold water, let it steep for 14 to 18 hours, and filter. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

For the vanilla cream , mix 1/2 cup of light cream (or cold evaporated milk), one teaspoon of natural vanilla extract, one teaspoon of sugar or honey, and a pinch of cinnamon. Beat with a whisk or frother until you achieve an airy, cloud-like texture.

Pour ice into a large glass, fill it three-quarters full with cold brew , and top with cream. Watching the golden and brown hues blend together is part of the ritual: a visual effect worthy of any California café.

The flavor is balanced: the intense body of Colombian coffee is softened by vanilla and cinnamon, leaving a sweet and spicy finish.

Barista tip: For a vegan version, use coconut cream and natural vanilla; the result will be more tropical, ideal for states like Florida or California.
